How Long Does It Take to Inflate the Battle Barriers?
Shorter than you think. The 8-player Battle Kit inflates in about 20 minutes with both pumps running. The 16-player Big Battle Kit takes about 40 to 45 minutes, and the big ball is the piece that takes the longest.
Every kit includes electric air pumps, so there is no huffing and puffing and no hand pump workouts. Plug in, attach the pump, and each barrier fills on its own while you set up the next one.
The times below come from real setups at real parties. They assume both pumps are running and a standard grounded outlet is within reach of the included extension cord.

Inflation times by kit
Battle Kit (8 players)
About 20 minutesFour barriers with both air pumps running at the same time. One person can do it alone, but two people with a pump each finish fastest.
Big Battle Kit (16 players)
About 40 to 45 minutesNine barriers, including the big ball. Plan closer to 45 minutes if one person is handling the whole setup.
The big ball
The longest of any barrierThe biggest piece in the fleet takes the most time to inflate. Start it first so it is filling while you work through the smaller barriers.
Setup tips from the field
- Start the big ball first, then inflate the smaller barriers while it fills.
- Run both pumps at once. Each pump handles one barrier, so two pumps cut the wait roughly in half.
- Plug into a standard grounded outlet. The included extension cord gives you reach from a house or pavilion.
- Once inflated, the barriers hold air on their own during play. No pump needs to keep running.
- Stake them down or tie them to the included sandbags right after inflating, so a gust does not rearrange your arena.
- If setup time is tight, add the $100 setup and teardown service and the arena is standing before guests arrive.
Setting up at a park? Read our guide to powering a Nerf party at the park before you go, since the pumps need a real outlet.
Rather skip setup entirely?
Add the $100 setup and teardown service with delivery and the arena is inflated, staked, and ready before the first guest arrives. The Battle Kit is $149 for up to 8 players and the Big Battle Kit is $249 for up to 16.
