    The short version

Summer break in Richmond runs about 11 weeks. One battle is great. Three battles across the summer is the move - and that's exactly what the Battle Pass ($300) is built for. Three all-day rentals, scheduled on your own dates, for less than the cost of two one-offs.

A 3-battle summer might look like:

    Battle #2 - Mid-July

Cousins in town or a camp wrap-up. Different group, fresh excitement.

    Battle #3 - Pre-Labor Day

One last hurrah before back-to-school. Invite the new classmates.

    Summer break FAQ

What if my kid wants more than a one-off battle?

The Battle Pass is built for that: three all-day kit rentals for $300, used on your own dates across the summer. Same DIY model, and you only lock in one date at a time.

What's the Battle Pass and why does it fit summer?

The Battle Pass is 3 full kit rentals for $300 - use them across June, July, and August on whatever dates you want. It works out to $100 per battle instead of $149, and you only commit to one date at a time. Perfect when you know summer is long but don't know your exact schedule yet.

How early should I book for summer?

Weekends in June and July book up first. Book 1-2 weeks ahead to lock in your date. Weekdays during summer break usually have more flexibility, even last-minute. With a Battle Pass you only need to lock in one date now - the other two can be scheduled later.

What ages does this work for?

Best for ages 6 and up. The Nerf N-Series blasters are easy enough for younger kids to handle, and the games scale up for tweens and teens. Foam darts only - safe for backyard play.

Is it too hot for a daytime battle in July?

We recommend running summer battles in the morning (9-11am) or evening (6-8pm) when temperatures are cooler. Because it's an all-day rental, many families do one round in the morning, take a break, and run a second round at dusk.

Can we set it up at a park?

Yes. The kit includes inflatable barriers that work anywhere with open grass. Many Richmond-area parks let you set up in open field areas without a permit. For larger groups, reserve a pavilion through your county's parks department.

    How much does it cost?

A single all-day rental is $149-$249 depending on group size (8-16 players). The Battle Pass bundles 3 rentals for $300 - the best value if you want to run more than one battle this summer. Richmond pickup; delivery available for a fee.
